Production Engineer

KAP Technical is working with an engineering company offering a manufacturing and installation service to many high-tech industries and has built its reputation on 30 years of quality and service. Our busy workshops provide services in machining, Tig welding, automated (orbital) welding, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, and testing. We are looking for an engineer to improve efficiency, quality, and Health and Safety in these areas and to provide feedback on production cost analysis. The position would suit a newly qualified graduate with relevant qualifications or someone already working within the industry looking for an exciting new role.


Roles and Responsibilities

1. Cost-back:
o Oversee collection and recording of production data
o Analyse accuracy of data and compare production times to those estimated
o Develop a pricing matrix to enhance the existing system
2. Production Efficiency:
o Improve production processes
o Analyse and streamline current production processes to eliminate unnecessary steps and allocate resources efficiently
o Apply technology solutions to enhance productivity
o Design and implement cost reduction activities
o Look at improving/developing our portfolio of equipment
o Work with the existing team to enhance and embellish existing practices
3. Product Quality:
o Work with production and quality departments to improve product quality
4. Workplace Health and Safety:
o Collaborate with the existing H&S team to improve workplace safety and establish quality and safety metrics for product and service excellence
