REF/ 93419 Legal Co-Ordinator Fairlie House, Erdington, Birmingham, B23 5TB £27,517.98 per annum, plus £1,680 car allowance 37.5 hours per week About The Role The purpose of the role is to provide effective co-ordination of all legal matters within the Group, ensuring effective management of legal cases by relevant officers and liaising with legal firms when seeking legal advice. Your responsibilities include: Legal Co-Ordination Lead the processing of legal cases within Trident Group To be the main contact for all legal enquiries collating cases, lease arrangements etc and providing appropriate advice Develop and maintain robust processes for requesting and managing legal matters with relevant teams across the Group i.e. disrepair claims Liaise with representatives from the legal framework providers, obtaining advice on relevant laws as appropriate. i.e. housing, employment, regulation and governance Managing the process of right to buy, right to acquire, staircasing and lease extension and sale in conjunction with customer legal representative Create and maintain a legal case management system, analysing this to identify trends and improve the Groups approach to the use of legal services Provide ad hoc advice and signposting on matters as they arise Performance Management and Improvement To establish and monitor performance metrics, reporting on progress towards targets Produce and present appropriate reporting and insights to Executive and Board as required Design and deliver training to managers as appropriate on legal matters and processes. i.e. legislative change, sales procedure, case management etc Identifying trends in legal cases that provide opportunities to improve business process and progressing these via the Business Improvement Team Budget Management Effective management of legal budgets always demonstrating value for money Effectively reducing legal expenditure via collation and publishing of a lessons learned register Policy and Governance For developing and implementing appropriate policies in areas of responsibility, in line with current legislation and best practice Maintain a good understanding of services across the Group and ensure that legal processes are aligned with appropriate strategies You will have: Experience Experienced in legal co-ordination and or social housing sales, leaseholder management, disrepair etc Experience of developing and optimising a case management system, ideally in a legal/housing environment Experienced, confident and effective in an autonomous role Proven budget management experience including cost tracking with external suppliers Experience in working independently across functions, balancing the best interests of the organisation with ensuring legal obligations are met Knowledge A relevant academic/professional qualification or suitable experience in a legal or social housing organisation Strong working knowledge of the law in relation to social housing Understanding of risk management including identifying and progressing mitigating controls Skills Exceptional communication skills including verbal, non-verbal and written Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills Highly organised, supportive and collaborative Emotionally intelligent with the ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse, geographically dispersed workforce Excellent data analysis with demonstrable experience of effective storytelling The benefits; 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy up to 5 more Birthday leave New Home leave Life assurance (3 x salary) Employee Assistance programme Health Cash Plan Pension About Us Trident Group has over 60 years’ experience of delivering homes, services and innovation for up to 8,000 people in over 3,600 homes in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands.
