We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team within the medical education department, as a Postgraduate Education Coordinator.
The Postgraduate Education Co-Ordinator is a key member of the Medical Education Department and is responsible for the day to day operational running of the Postgraduate Administrative team and service.
The successful post holder will work closely with the medical education leadership team, to ensure that the delivery of postgraduate medical education and training within the trust meets the General Medical Council (GMC) standards and contracted educational services with NHSE.
Extensive knowledge of medical grades and their training requirements is required, with in depth understanding of postgraduate resident doctors training programmes.
You will work to develop the service and encourage others to be innovative and adaptable in their approach to change. You will implement improvement programmes consistent with service strategy and regional/national directives as applicable to medical staff.
There will be a financial budgetary responsibility in this role.
Your main duties will include line managing our administrative team across UHDB. You will have in depth knowledge of postgraduate services and tasks, with experience in leading a team to support, motivate and develop a positive and productive work environment.
The role provides operational support to our clinical colleagues and services, working closely with the Postgraduate & GP Operational Manager and medical education leadership team, to assist in service development to achieve local and national targets.
You will plan and organise clinical placements and the annual appraisal and assessment process for resident doctors in training, to support their educational review and enable progression through their training programme.
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating medical education events, courses and meetings, and represent UHDB at both local and regional level.
The post holder will lead on HR processes, including grievance and discipline, appraisal, recruitment, reviewing work performance and progress, work allocation.
