Job description
Our client, a leading company in the rail industry, is currently seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and surveying buildings, ensuring they adhere to industry standards and regulations. Experience in Building Surveying, particularly within the rail sector, is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting thorough inspections of buildings to assess their condition and identify any defects or areas of concern
2. Preparing detailed reports outlining survey findings, including recommendations for repairs and improvements
3. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement maintenance plans for buildings and structures
4. Monitoring and overseeing construction and renovation projects to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
5. Providing expert advice and guidance on building regulations and compliance issues
6. Assessing the feasibility of development projects and providing technical expertise
7. Liaising with clients, contractors, and other professionals involved in the design and construction process
8. Keeping up to date with industry developments and changes in building codes and regulations
Job Requirements:
9. Solid experience in Building Surveying, with a focus on rail projects
10. Proven knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
13. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
14. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in surveying and reporting
15. Proficient in using surveying equipment and software
16. Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable
