Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented SEND Plan Writer to create tailored, comprehensive, and person-centered Education, Health, and Care (EHC) Plans for children and young people with special educational needs. You will work closely with families, educators, therapists, and other professionals to accurately capture the unique needs of everyone, ensuring clarity and quality in every plan.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Draft EHC Plans: Write accurate, detailed, and person-centered SEND plans, capturing educational, health, and social care needs as identified through assessments and consultations.
2. Collaborate with Professionals: Liaise with families, teachers, healthcare providers, and social services to gather essential information and ensure all perspectives are considered.
3. Maintain Compliance: Ensure all plans adhere to statutory guidelines, including the SEND Code of Practice, and meet local authority requirements.
4. Review and Update Plans: Periodically review and update EHC plans to reflect the evolving needs of the child or young person.
5. Contribute to Best Practices: Support ongoing improvement in SEND plan writing practices and contribute to training or resources as needed.
Experience:
1. Proven experience in managing SEND processes, including EHCPs.
2. Strong understanding of SEND legislation and statutory guidance.
3. Extensive experience in quality assurance, auditing, and reporting, preferably in an educational or social care setting.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire colleagues at all levels.
5. Ability to analyse complex information and provide clear, actionable insights to improve service delivery.
