Job Title: Head of Events
Reporting to: Directors

Main Responsibilities
1. Team Management
1. Recruit, retain and motivate the events team.
2. This includes weekly catch ups, yearly performance reviews, checking of work quality and load.
3. Distributing work throughout the team.
4. Staffing rota to include management of freelancers.
5. Adequate management of holidays and absence.
2. Event Design
1. Overseeing all creative proposals within the events team with attention to existing clients but also new business.
2. All events proposals to offer creative and innovative solutions, consider the guest journey, the companies' objectives and therefore ROI and budget. Ensuring that the management team are kept in communication particularly over the larger projects.
3. Budgets & Profit
1. Budgets are created to match client budget with an agreed margin.
2. All suppliers are being costed accurately.
3. All events teams' hours are being charged correctly.
4. All events are paid before the event and that all final budgets are reconciled within one week of the event.
4. Event Plans
1. Cross checking of all event plans to see if there has been adequate time management; enough staff for each job and a clear direction for each person working.
2. Ensure all the relevant Health and Safety documentation and supplier documentations has been gathered for each event.
5. Onsite
1. Ensuring the correct staffing levels on site for each event.
2. Strict management of all suppliers.
3. Onsite attendance at live events to provide strategic and operational oversight, ensuring service and quality levels are met and client expectations exceeded.
6. Account Management
1. Account management of key clients and oversee the team’s figures/account management of clients alongside the Sales Team.
2. Coordinate and oversee quarterly account management meetings.
3. Attending all debrief meetings, where relevant, and encouraging events team to ask all the right questions, including ‘what else do you do?’ and ‘who else could we speak to?’
7. Strategy
1. Working alongside the Directors to develop and engage a strategy for the events team.
8. Suppliers
1. Build relationships with key suppliers to get preferred rates and support for our own events.
2. Ensure the team are adding correct mark ups and negotiating at point of contract.
9. New Business
1. Working with the Sales Team on new business pitches – taking overall responsibility for, the project management and delivery proposal response and budget.
10. Recruitment and Training
1. Responsibility for team recruitment, resource planning, training, development, inductions, mentoring and motivation.
2. Implementing and measuring relevant training and development plans for the team alongside annual performance review objectives.
3. Strategic knowledge and research of all industry news, trends and emerging technologies ensuring team attend events both industry and non-industry related, fam trips and networking events.
11. Business Development
1. Comfortable speaking at events, attending networking events and acting as a face of the company; generating new enquiries and contacts.
Skills, competencies and specialist knowledge
1. Experience of both UK and international event and service delivery.
2. Demonstrates a proven track record in account management and client development in an events agency and looking to make a considerable impact on the growth of the agency.
3. Extensive experience at resource and project planning with team.
4. Leading by example and being a senior role model within the company with the ability to develop a strong working relationship across the business.
5. Able to acquire and convert new business opportunities into new clients and to secure additional work from existing clients.
6. Is well connected and has the potential to bring in new relationships.
7. Self-motivated to review, improve and perfect the company offering to be the best in the industry.
8. Resilient and able to work independently with minimal support and guidance even whilst under pressure with commercial awareness.
9. Can demonstrate lateral, analytical, creative and strategic thinking.
10. Content Creation for your department of our amazing events that we can share on all our platforms.
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
1. Already got event agency experience? That’s a big tick in a box.
2. Knowledge of Canva is a bonus.
3. Spotting the little things - excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
4. Want to tell us all about the events you have run? We would love to hear about your experience of producing corporate events. From ideas to budgeting we want to hear it all!
5. People are your thing – show us your people management skills.
6. Do you like to get a good deal? We would like to see your strong negotiation skills.

Other Requirements
1. General:
1. Current driving licence.
2. Ability to travel around the UK & overseas.
3. Flexible approach to working hours as live events may take place over evenings and/or weekends.

5. Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different viewpoints, cultures and countries.
