Our client is recruiting for a Deputy Manager to support 3 Managers looking after 5 small residential services for adults with learning disabilities, all based in close proximity to one another in the Southend on Sea, Essex area. Previous experience at Care Coordinator level or above is required.
Minimum Requirements:
* Possess QCF level 4 or equivalent. May consider level 3 if good experience as a Deputy.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
* Genuine interest in working with people with learning disabilities.
Job Purpose:
As the Deputy Manager, you are required to oversee and maintain the care of Service users within the homes and, in the absence of the manager, take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the homes, ensuring that all Company policies and procedures, as well as all legal requirements, are adhered to within the defined timescales.
Your Duties and Responsibilities Will Include:
* Ensuring all Staff Members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the homes and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of Service users.
* Interacting with Service users to ensure that their health care needs are being met and resolving any problems where appropriate.
* Reporting any ill-health amongst Service users and making requests for GP/Professional visits where necessary.
* Ensuring meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that Service users’ dietary needs are met.
* Undertaking general support and personal care as appropriate.
* Administering prescribed medicines and maintaining the necessary records as per Company guidelines.
* Auditing Care Plan documentation to ensure best practice on a three-monthly basis.
Working Monday to Friday but will be on call when required. Salary: £30,000 per annum.
