We currently have the following opportunity:
The postholder is required to work on a variety of environment service tasks including street sweeping, refuse collection, waste disposal and grounds maintenance duties, though your primary work is street sweeping. The day-to-day operation of the post holder's allocated vehicle, independently operating a Hako Pedestrian Sweeper as requested by the line manager.
The Communities Service operates new ways of working which is a variable shift system.
This is SS Shift A, Week 1 Sat - Wed, Week 2 Tues - Wed.
Skills & Experience Required
* You must have a valid UK driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
* You must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post and be able to communicate effectively with team members and the public.
* You will be aware of Road Transport Regulations and have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public as well as colleagues.
* You will bring a positive energy and have the ability to work well as part of a team.
* You will be aware of Health & Safety legislation and have effective visual skills to ensure the safety of other road users and pedestrians.
* You will have the ability to carry out vehicle inspections, ensuring that your vehicle is safe to drive and meets all legal requirements.
* You will have the ability to operate and navigate in and around the Perth & Kinross area.
* You will follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Street sweeping (copies available on request).
* You must be able to complete relevant daily paperwork.
* You are required to be available to work on a standby basis, including weekdays and weekends.
