An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital for a Patient Pathway Coordinator/ Medical Secretary post within the Stroke department at East Kent Hospitals. This post is for 37.5 hours a week.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent administration skills. The candidate should be able to adapt to a changing environment and show confidence, knowledge and experience in the use of hospital based IT systems.
Previous NHS experience desirable.
Proactively co-ordinate patients through their treatment pathway ensuring a smooth process and compliance to National RTT standards, diagnostic standards and any internal targets.
Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical and transcription support to consultants and their teams.
Monitor new patient referrals to Consultant workflow and escalate where necessary.
Support the Operational Managers in achieving utilisation targets for outpatient clinics and timely recording of clinical outcomes.
Act as key point of contact on behalf of the department and the Trust and deal effectively and courteously with all enquiries from consultant and clinical teams, Operational Managers, GPs, patients, other departments within the Trust and all other departments, as well as external providers.
Organise own work schedule, adapt the schedule as required to meet commitments to others within the agreed timescales and, where this is not achievable, give notification promptly with reasons to line manager.
