We are looking to recruit two Assistant Engineers to the Traffic Management Team within the Highways and Transportation Section.
This is an excellent professional opportunity and your input will help shape the future of the Highway and Transportation Network across RCTCBC.
It is essential that applicants have excellent knowledge of Traffic Management, along with a good understanding of Highway Design and Infrastructure and be able to demonstrate you are actively working towards HND/HNC level in Civil Engineering or similar discipline. Alternatively, you should have a minimum of 3 years experience within Civil Engineering, Traffic Management or Road Safety sector.
It is desirable that you will have good knowledge of CAD, GIS, Traffic Regulation Orders, Highway Design, Road Safety Engineering, Project Management and budget control.
The permanent full-time position is based at Building 2, Llys Cadwyn, Pontypridd, benefiting from nearby public parking and excellent public transport links to Cardiff and the surrounding area. A hybrid working arrangement is currently in place with staff able to work from both home and the office (Currently the team attends the office on a Tuesday and Friday). Employment hours are 37 hours a week under the flexible working hours scheme, with 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years), and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff benefits scheme.
You will be required to hold a full valid driving licence and be expected to travel within the Borough when required. Access to a Council pool vehicle will be made available.
