Job Title: Class 2 Driver (Reporting to Transport Manager)
Start date: Start date can be negotiated
Salary: £33k p/a
Location: Harlow - Essex
Hours: Monday - Friday 07:00 - 16:00, Alternating Saturdays 08:00 - 13:00.
As a Class 2 Driver, you will work as part of the delivery and collection service, ensuring that customers receive the best experience possible. You will be responsible for keeping the service safe, compliant, and reliable.
Please note: The role will involve heavy lifting to help load or unload the vans if needed. Additionally, there may be a need to drive a smaller vehicle (3.5t for example).

The client supplies over 9,000 bits of equipment, from industrial generators and cranes to carpet cleaners and floor sanders. They are revolutionising the hire industry with a passion for innovation, making them the one-stop shop for anything their customers need to get the job done.
The client is looking for someone who:
1. Must hold a Category C (Class 2) licence and have experience in driving Category C (Class 2) vehicles.
2. Holds a valid driver qualification card and digital tachograph card.
3. Has excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve complex customer inquiries.
4. Possesses knowledge of safe loading as well as the transporting of hazardous goods.
5. Demonstrates compliance with manual handling regulations.
6. Preferred but not essential experience in commercial driving and product knowledge of powered access range.
Compliance:
1. You will be responsible for conducting daily vehicle checks via a smartphone and documenting any defects until rectified.
2. You will review and plan your route prior to leaving the depot, including scheduled breaks in line with Working Time Directive (WTD), driving or duty time.
3. At the end of every shift, you will be required to download your tachograph card.
4. You will also be responsible for managing and recording all duty hours on the tachograph card, including manual entries for the beginning and end of shift, ensuring all activity is accurately recorded and breaks are compliant with transport legislation.
5. You will also need to sign in and out the vehicle, fuel cards, and keys at the beginning and end of each shift.
