Joining our vibrant Music Department, led by Mr A. J. Furniss, you will work within an inspiring setting that boasts several large halls, multiple practice rooms, and an impressive selection of musical instruments. Should the need arise, additional instruments can be acquired to support your teaching.
John Lyon Senior School proudly supports over 13 Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) and offers a rich programme of 15+ music clubs and ensembles. Our facilities include a 130-seat Music Hall, numerous practice spaces, and cutting-edge Music Technology suites, ensuring a stimulating and dynamic teaching environment.
The Music Department at John Lyon Prep School supports over 8 visiting music teachers. Based in the Halliday Hall (Old Chapel), offering a large hall and practice rooms, with a number of music clubs and ensembles taking place within the facilities.
At John Lyon, pupils are prepared for examinations using the ABRSM syllabus, thus the successful applicant should have experience educating pupils using this examination board. Should you wish to look at alternative exam boards, this should be discussed with the Director of Music.
