MacTaggart Scott are looking to recruit a Control Panel Design Engineer to work in our Design Department. Closing Date: 06/01/25 Role: This role reports directly into the Electrical and Controls Principal Engineer. The purpose of the role is to be responsible for designing electrical control panels/systems that will be manufactured and tested in-house. Duties will include: Design control panels using: -Relay Logic -PLCs -Variable Frequency Drives -HMI/SCADA Produce drawings, bill of materials and technical documentation. Generate concept designs for manufacture and test in-house. Oversee in-house manufacture and test of control panels. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers. Support the wider business (bids, manufacture & test, post design services, etc.) Requirements The successful candidate must; Be degree educated in Control/Electrical Engineering or relevant Apprenticeship with HNC. Have previous experience of control panel design. Experience of preparing technical documentation and drawings. Excellent communication skills. Skilled in the use of MS Office products. Familiarity of related standards (BS, EN, 18th Edition, etc.).
