My client is a leading M&E and principal contractor, specializing in the design and build of innovative mission-critical infrastructure for blue-chip clients within the data centre, news, and banking sectors. Due to increased workload and business growth, we are seeking an HVAC/Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in delivering solutions throughout the UK & EMEA region.
Job Description:
We are looking for an HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in transitioning concept designs into detailed, deployable designs. The role focuses heavily on critical HVAC infrastructure within Data Centre environments.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop detailed designs and select appropriate equipment
2. Perform mechanical calculations for pressure drops, airflows, and other key parameters
3. Conduct CFD Modelling for Data Centre white space and critical plant rooms
4. Liaise with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure design criteria compliance
5. Ensure all designs meet current regulations
6. Compile comprehensive design documentation and submittals
7. Additional hours will be required at times
8. There may be times where travel to sites and regional offices is required
Qualifications/Experience:
1. Experience in HVAC Systems Design
2. Exceptional ability to manage workload and conflicting demands
3. Proactive and capable of working independently
4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
5. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
6. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D pipework modelling software is required
7. Proficiency in Revit is advantageous
8. Willingness to travel throughout the UK & EMEA
9. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous but not required
