We’re searching for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead and inspire our talented design team at our headquarters in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. This is a permanent role with incredible potential for professional growth in a forward-thinking, dynamic company.

Your Role:
As the Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical strategy for our projects. From managing the electrical design team to ensuring compliance with technical standards, you’ll lead the way in delivering exceptional solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced electrical systems for our prefabricated and commercial heating & cooling solutions.
Ensure adherence to technical standards, regulations, and best practices across regions.
Act as the go-to expert for resolving complex engineering challenges.
Project Management
Lead multidisciplinary teams, defining project scope, budgets, and timelines.
Monitor progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
System Design & Innovation
Create detailed electrical designs, including power distribution, circuit design, and control systems.
Drive innovation by implementing cutting-edge technologies and improving existing systems.
Mentorship & Collaboration
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and a culture of excellence.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to align project goals and expectations.
Present technical reports and findings to diverse audiences, ensuring clear communication of complex ideas.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a dynamic leader with a passion for innovation and a proven track record in electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will bring:
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical design.
Expertise in designing ELV, LV, and HV systems, including solar PV, inverters, and earthing systems.
Strong knowledge of UK/European technical standards, legislation, and environmental best practices.
Proficiency in Amtech or similar electrical design software.
Excellent leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM 360 software.
Experience with HV electrical switchgear, transformers, and generators above 2MW(e).
Familiarity with battery storage solutions and energy efficiency measures (EEMs).
Previous experience submitting G59/G99 or DNO applications.
