On-Call Mechanical Day Fitter

Location: StockportSalary: £36,123 (£40,000 OTE)

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm (early finish Friday 4pm)

Are you experienced in experience in maintaining automated manufacturing equipment? My client a large FMCG Manufacturer is looking to add to their Engineering department and contribute to the smooth operation of their mill.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery and equipment
* Carry out preventative maintenance tasks
* Clean, inspect and lubricate machinery
* Assist with building and facility maintenance tasks as needed
* Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including risk assessments and LOTO procedures
* Support production efficiency by working closely with operating teams
* Coordinate with contractors and spare parts teams to ensure efficient operations

About You:

1. Apprentice trained/HNC - Similar (Mechanical)
2. Experience in mechanical repairs, troubleshooting, fault finding and inspections
3. PPM experience
4. Knowledge of pump systems, conveyors, gearboxes
5. Welding skills very advantageous
6. Experience in maintaining automated manufacturing equipment
7. On call – (Paid every 5 weeks, even when not called out)
