Job summary As the pharmacist in charge you will be responsible for the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service. You will lead and manage the pharmacy team working closely with the Head of Healthcare, GP, patients, prison partners and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop the service. There may also be a requirement to work within the in-house pharmacies and healthcare departments within the North East cluster to provide cover and services where required. Please note the Welcome Payment is payable to candidates joining Spectrum Community Health CIC Main duties of the job You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or master's degree in pharmacy, holding registration with the general Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for prison pharmacy and working with others. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you Experience of working in a secure environment would be beneficial but not essential You will be responsible for ensuring that the provision of service meets the contractual obligations. The role will also include reviewing safe systems of working and controlled drug processes, developing pharmacist led clinics and medicines reviews, responsibility for providing daily expert advice on pharmaceutical matters and ensuring that a safe but modern medicines management service is provided to our patients.
