Dynamic, proactive and experienced conveyor and materials handling solutions technical sales specialist required by our internationally recognised MHE and robotic systems integration provider.
Our client has been established for more than 20 years and is recognised as a market leader in the provision of bespoke innovative materials handling and automation solutions to a diverse range of clients and industry sectors throughout the UK. As a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a local and experienced Technical Sales Manager to complement their professional and highly respected team.
Reporting to the Sales Director and working closely with the internal Sales, Design Solutions, Customer Support, and Costing teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for extensive proactive new business development across the UK, as well as existing account management and support.
The successful Technical Sales Manager will be a dynamic and highly self-motivated sales professional, able to provide our client with a wider sales presence in their niche marketplace. This includes responding to website and telephone enquiries and identifying potential new customers and markets to actively engage in new business relationships throughout the UK.
You will work closely with the engineering team to formulate, design, and cost conveyor layouts. You will demonstrate the ability to assess site conditions relevant to project requirements, provide basic site surveys for proposal drawings, and create detailed costings and quotations for presentation to the client on individual projects. Post-sale, you will liaise closely with the Project Team to ensure complete customer satisfaction at all times.
You will maintain ongoing communications with customers and potential customers and will be responsible for creating both broad and targeted sales and marketing material as required. Additionally, you will attend exhibitions and sales functions and carry out lead follow-up activity from trade shows as necessary.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong appreciation of AutoCAD (2D mechanical layout design experience will prove advantageous), along with proficiency in the MS suite of packages. Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels are essential for the position, as is the possession of a full clean UK driving licence and a flexible approach to travel to clients across the country.
You will ideally have attained a relevant mechanical engineering degree (or proven experience within a similar environment) and at least 5 years of previous successful sales experience gained within the automation and materials handling sector.
