Job Description
Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust seeks to appoint two enthusiastic, forward-thinking Consultant Haematologists.
Based at Queen Alexandra Hospital, our vision is to be recognized as a world-class hospital through innovative healthcare solutions, focusing on optimal patient outcomes in a safe, caring, and inspiring environment. These posts are within the Regional Cancer Centre, a newly formed care group developed in response to the expansion of cancer services. Opportunities exist for clinicians in leadership and management roles alongside clinical duties. The department is supported by five Specialist Nurses, three anti-coagulation Nurses, and five Specialist Trainees from the Wessex training programme.
The department has a strong record of participation in clinical trials and benefits from a dedicated research team.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and hold or be within six months of obtaining the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at the time of interview. Part-time or job-share applications are welcome. Job content and subspecialization modifications can be discussed with the Trust and the Haematology team.
This is a new full-time post. The successful candidate will join a team of eight Consultants, expected to be broadly skilled and involved in clinical and laboratory duties. The post is 11 PA; part-time applicants are encouraged to discuss their requirements.

Qualifications
* Full and Specialist GMC registration or eligibility within six months of interview.
* MRCP or equivalent qualification.
* FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
* Higher professional training in Haematology.
Clinical Experience
* UK-trained applicants must have CCT or be within six months of award.
* Non-UK trained applicants must demonstrate equivalence to UK CCT.
Clinical Skills
* Experience in managing laboratory and clinical haematology cases.
* Understanding of clinical risk management.
Knowledge
* Appropriate clinical knowledge level.
* Evidence-based practice.
* IT skills.
* Effective presentation skills.
* Experience both within and outside the specialty.
