The role of a Mental Health Support Worker:
1. Support students in regulating and working through their emotions.
2. Encourage positive coping strategies.
3. Follow through with and facilitate any interventions that are in place.
4. Provide support to the class teacher.
5. Encourage children to do their best.
6. Help manage, de-escalate, and redirect any classroom behavior.
7. Listen to the children read and practice their phonics.
The successful Mental Health Support Worker will have:
1. A calm and compassionate personality.
2. Proactive attitude.
3. Patience.
4. Passion for helping children with mental health needs.
5. Understanding of the importance of safeguarding in schools.
6. An enhanced DBS Check or willingness to apply for one.
7. The right to live/work in the UK – we do not offer sponsorships.
