Following our success in securing AMP8 frameworks, we have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Cleanwater Hydraulic Modeller to join our national team of innovative and motivated modellers, delivering water infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects for both UK Water Companies and international clients. You will be a driven individual with a keen interest in clean network modelling and solution engineering. You should be familiar with InfoWorks WS Pro, as well as GIS packages. You'll be able to understand water projects holistically and work in collaboration with other teams (civil, mechanical, process, structural, environmental) for the successful delivery of multi-disciplinary projects. As a Principal Hydraulic Modeller, you would be responsible for providing key technical inputs on a range of clean water infrastructure projects. You'll be responsible for: Leading a team to deliver hydraulic modelling on a range of projects, including zonal and growth studies, model build and maintenance, operational, planning and design support and development of solutions for water infrastructure issues. Mentoring more junior colleagues. Providing technical guidance, quality assurance and compliance with standards. Supporting continuous improvement of procedures and processes to drive efficiency and innovation, contributing to the application of our digital engineering initiatives. Support the framework operations manager to ensure the efficient delivery and successful performance of the framework. Working collaboratively across disciplines to ensure the efficient delivery of projects within your portfolio. Engaging regularly with the Client and stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of projects, providing regular updates on progress and status of work within your area of responsibility, as well as identifying and communicating issues that could risk programme, quality or cost Engaging with best practice and taking responsibility for your own professional development. Candidate specification We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Hydraulic Modeller with the following attributes: Candidates should be experienced with InfoWorks WS Pro including functionality such as User Programable Controls, Open Data Import / Export Centre including scripts, SQL and live data configuration including use as a time varying control. Candidates should be experienced in GIS packages such as QGIS, MapInfo or ARCGIS. Experience with clean water network model building and updating from CAD/GIS, model calibration. Experience with processing and analysing Telemetry or SCADA data (flow, pressure, turbidity etc.) in excel. Experience with planning/undertaking field (pressure/flow/quality) testing in accordance with required Health, Safety and Environmental standards and procedures. Familiarity with the relevant British Standards and clean water network modelling specifications of UK water companies. Proven ability to lead delivery of technical projects, including controlling and reporting on project budgets within area of responsibility, and experienced in the preparation of time and budget estimates for proposals. Strong collaboration and communication skills in both oral presentations and written reports, to colleagues, non-technical staff and clients. Chartered with a relevant professional institution such as CIWEM or ICE. Enthusiasm for building a modelling team, playing a pro-active part in shaping the growth and development of the team and committed to making it successful over the life of the framework. Flexibility and willingness to adapt the role to meet framework requirements as the workload evolves Desirable: Experience of WS Pro Exchange and Ruby. Experience of IWLive Pro. Experience with NEC4 Professional Service Contract. Experience of similar clean water network modelling software such as Synergi, WaterCAD/WaterGEMS. Experience working with FME, Power Bi, Power Automate and / or programming skills in languages such as Ruby, VBA or Python. Experience of WTW and WWTW hydraulic analysis.
