Permanency & Pathways Team Social Worker
Location: Colwyn Bay
Pay: Up to £38.43 in line with ADSS pledge
An opportunity has become available for a temporary experienced Social Worker to work alongside the Permanency & Pathways team in Conwy Children Services Children, Families and Safeguarding Service. The assignment is for 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday. There is an expectation that the candidate lives locally or within a commutable distance as the position is located in Conwy County. The worker will work from the office - Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, Conwy. The assignment is expected to last approximately 12 weeks with potential to be extended, pending the appointment of a permanent social worker.
The suitable candidate will be expected to deliver a high-quality social work service to children and their families who are deemed to have unmet needs and/or considered to be at risk of harm/significant harm. Social Workers are expected to provide support and to develop resilience and independence, ensuring that children and their families are at the centre of decision-making about their lives and the outcomes that they want to achieve without compromising the child's safety.
The key priorities for the role are, but not limited to:
1. Assessment writing - placement with parents
2. Care planning - attending LAC reviews and action planning
3. Attending ADM - approval by head of service
4. Special guardianship order - paperwork section 1-3 of the document
5. Court statement - attending CDWLA and LPM/discharge statement
6. Relationship building - therapeutic working and rapport
7. Working in partnership with professionals
8. Statutory requirement - attending visits in timescales/reviews
Skills and qualifications required:
1. Social Work Qualified, minimum 3 years post-qualified plus technology & software skills
2. Registered with Social Care Wales. If not already registered, they will need to register in order to work in Conwy County Borough Council.
3. Teamwork & interpersonal skills

* A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
* A relevant Social Work Qualification
* Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
* Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS
* 3 Years of referencing
* Driving license with access to a car
