Key Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your main duties will include:
* Supporting secondary students with SEN, SEND, SEMH, and ADHD by offering personalised assistance.
* Working in small groups or one-on-one settings to help students with their learning and development.
* Assisting teachers in creating and adapting lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Ensuring smooth classroom activities by supporting students in the absence of the teacher.
* Helping to implement behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused and inclusive classroom environment.
* Encouraging students to develop their social skills, confidence, and independence.
* Ensuring all students have the opportunity to fully engage in their education.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary
To excel in this role, you should have:
* CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance.
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or a related field.
* Previous experience working with children, especially in a secondary SEN environment or as a SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary .
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A compassionate, patient approach to supporting students.
* The ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff to support student progress.
