Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our team on Ward 20 at Queens Hospital. Ward Receptionist cover will be required Monday- Friday between the hours of 8am and 4pm.
The role requires a flexible approach and involves working closely with a wide range of disciplines. Healthcare experience and knowledge is desirable, along with experience in administrative procedures including case note tracking.
The successful candidate will support service improvement, including data collection and active involvement in Quality Improvement Projects, as well as assisting colleagues with administrative duties.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Ward Receptionist is varied and fast-paced, encompassing responsibilities to support the high standard of care given to patients, including but not limited to:
* Using clinical software to manage patient information and location.
* Filing patient notes appropriately.
* Admitting/discharging patients using Trust systems.
* Taking telephone calls.
* Engaging in communication with patients, relatives, visitors, and staff.
* Dealing with queries promptly and efficiently to ensure accurate information service.
* Working knowledge of systems such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Making appointments for patients.
* Non-clinical care of patients.
* Managing post and conducting audits.
* Providing administrative support for Sister/Nurse-in-Charge.
* Ordering and maintaining ward supplies as necessary.
