We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic person to join us in the role of Receptionist at Bridport Hospital.
This is a part-time post of 15 hours per week. The postholder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Hours are:
* Thursday 8.45 a.m. - 4.45 p.m.
* Friday 8.45 a.m. - 4.45 p.m.
Main duties of the job
To act as a first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, carers, visitors and other healthcare and service professionals, providing a positive and responsive point of contact on behalf of the Trust.
To operate the telephone system and direct calls to relevant staff members, also deal with enquiries efficiently, taking accurate messages and disseminating them to the relevant person.
The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Person Specification
Experience
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent level of knowledge of office procedures
* Previous experience of working in a customer focused environment
* Previous experience in a comparable role
Skills and abilities
* Evidence of ability to prioritise.
* Evidence of ability to use own initiative within sphere of responsibility.
* Evidence of good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Show understanding of patient confidentiality.
* Evidence of good IT skills in Microsoft applications.
* Knowledge of RiO, NHS systems.
Training
* Interest in undertaking training for all aspects of admin department tasks.
