Job title: Lead Architect

Salary: Circa £70,000 dependent on skills and experience What you’ll be doing:
* Direct, lead and participate in Combat System architecting activities including workshops and formal meetings as required by the customer
* Take ownership of architectural; solution, guidance, specification and standards provision, lead others when allocated as Task/Team lead
* Engage and manage stakeholders, lead and participate in systems analysis, production of conceptual and logical architecture models, reference architectures, specifications and standards
* Keep up to date with latest systems architecture patterns, techniques, and associated industry technologies (including Combat Systems)
* Proactively define architecture policies and apply best practice, help grow architectural team maturity over time, maintain and manage architectural models and documents
* Deliver high quality outputs to time and budget
* Motivate and inspire colleagues – creating architecture where purpose, and the mechanism for adherence by others is clearly understood and realised
Your skills and experiences: Essential:
* Extensive background in formal systems engineering
* Substantial experience in a senior architecture role
* In depth technology expertise, and wide experience of tailoring architecture frameworks, methods, and approaches in different context
Desirable:
* Formal certification in architectural frameworks, preferably TOGAF and UAF
* Experience of Enterprise Architect, MATLAB, System Composer
* Combat systems experience
Candidates should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.
