This role will see the successful candidate working as an Occupational Therapist within the inpatient therapy team based at West Berkshire general Inpatient wards.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The normal working pattern is 08:30 - 16:30. The post holder will be expected to be a car driver and use their car for off-site visits and small equipment deliveries. The therapy teams work closely to manage the inpatient beds and are a friendly approachable team. This is a great opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of Inpatient Therapy and develop transferable skills.
Main duties of the job
* Full time role working across inpatient therapies
* Working with patients on Donnington and Highclere wards at WBCH
* Completing activities which are goal focused and aimed at promoting independence with everyday activities.
* Liaising with patients and their relatives to achieve the best outcomes in hospital and for discharge.
* Delivering and fitting equipment at the patient's property (after training)
* Completing goal orientated therapy and outcome measures
* Promoting independence and helping to manage expectation
* Supporting patients with management of their activities of daily living
