We’re recruiting now for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team in Chesterfield. This role offers hybrid working, with Wednesdays and Thursdays in office, working from home the rest of the week. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and administering payroll and pension processes for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with statutory regulations, and efficient administration of pension schemes. This role requires a deep understanding of UK payroll and pension regulations, strong attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills. Key Duties : • Full range of payroll duties including annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly payrolls. • Process end-to-end payroll for UK employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments. • Process Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC as required. • End of Year processing and reconciliations including end of year RTI submissions and issue of P60s. • Develop and maintain good working relationships. • Calculate and process statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions. • Administer employee pension schemes, including enrolment, contributions, and liaising with pension providers. • Ensure compliance with UK payroll regulations, tax laws, and pension auto-enrolment requirements. • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards in handling sensitive employee payroll and pension information. • To follow all department processes and procedures. Skills and Experience : • 1-2 years’ experience working in a busy payroll function, ideally in a payroll bureau environment. • Grade C/5 and above at GCSE English & Maths. • Ability to work on own initiative, working within a team and the ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • A strong team player who is willing to actively work across the team, adopting a can-do and flexible attitude. • Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes, tax regulations, and pension legislation, including auto-enrolment. • Proficiency in using payroll software or systems for end-to-end payroll processing. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple payroll cycles and deadlines. • Strong communication skills to effectively address client inquiries and concerns related to payroll and pensions. • Proficient in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll and pension-related issues.
