First Military Recruitment is currently seeking a Sales Account Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify opportunities with new and existing customers, target these prospects with a clear and detailed plan to build long-term profitable sales, develop relationships, and recommend solutions.
2. Build relationships with new and existing customers to establish yourself as their key account manager and grow these accounts where opportunities are identified.
3. Respond to incoming email and phone inquiries, ensuring customers are quoted and orders are processed by the Sales Support Team.
4. Create a daily outbound call plan with a proactive approach.
5. Listen to customer requirements, create detailed proposal documents, and present appropriately.
6. Challenge any objections to convert your quotes.
7. Actively seek ways to grow the business by immersing yourself in the industry and working closely with the sales leadership team on new ideas and prospects.
8. Advise customers on forthcoming product developments and discuss special promotions.
9. Maintain clear and up-to-date customer records on the company CRM.
10. Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events, etc., as required.
11. Remain motivated, manage your workload proactively to achieve KPIs.
12. Follow company quality management and health & safety guidelines.
13. Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by the Senior Management team.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Previous internal sales experience (ideally, minimum 3+ years).
2. Strong B2B sales experience, ideally consultative and/or technical.
3. Account management and business development experience.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels.
5. Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive working relationships with internal and external professionals.
6. Enjoys working towards sales targets and goals, always striving to overachieve.
7. Good all-round IT skills and experience using a CRM system.
8. Must be a team player with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude, determination, and confidence.
9. Resilience and negotiation skills are essential.
10. Ability to prioritize work and adapt positively to changing priorities.
11. Able to work independently.
12. Experience in selling electrical accessories or cables is highly advantageous.
13. Experience selling into a wholesale/re-distribution market is highly desirable.
14. Formal sales qualifications and training will support any application.
