We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist with an interest in functional neurological conditions to join a large Neuropsychology department at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
We are looking for someone to lead the provision of Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology services within a multidisciplinary team including Neuropsychiatry, Neurology, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy.
The post holder will also join a large, friendly, supportive, and welcoming Neuropsychology department comprised of 13 Clinical Neuropsychologists/Psychologists and 9 Assistant Psychologists in 5 services (General Outpatients, Neurosurgery, Cognitive Disorders, Stroke, and Community Traumatic Brain Injury).
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will deliver assessment, consultation, and psychological intervention for people with a diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). The post-holder will take a lead role in developing the outpatient and inpatient service, alongside the service manager, consultants, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists in evidence-based service development, implementation of service outcome measures, use of data to demonstrate service impact, service user involvement, quality improvement projects, and research involvement.
As a senior member of the team, the post-holder will be expected to contribute to the supervision of more junior staff, along with the wider multidisciplinary team. They will also support colleagues from across the south-west and nationally through professional networks and teaching opportunities. The team is actively involved in clinical research.
Person specification
Education/ Training/ Qualifications
* Training in clinical psychology to doctoral standard (or its equivalent for those trained before 1996), as accredited by the British Psychological Society.
* HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist
Work Experience
* Experience of working with patients who have a diagnosis of a functional neurological disorder
* Significant supervised clinical practice including clinical neuropsychological assessment/rehabilitation of adults.
