The Role:
The Housing Management Team require an Assistant Housing Officer (Estates). The role will include daily inspections to DDC social housing estates and neighbourhoods in order to keep the areas, clean and tidy and to ensure that estates are maintained to a high standard and comply with Health and Safety regulations. You would be expected to travel around the district using your own vehicle visiting areas on a daily basis conducting inspections and engaging with local residents, partners and stakeholders.
This role will act as a frontline Officer representing DDC when out inspecting the communal areas to report issues of repairs, fly-tipping or rubbish accumulation and contract defects.
What Are We Looking For?
The successful candidate will be able to evidence:
- The ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
- Proficient in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and internet- based systems
- The ability to communicate clearly, both in written and verbal form, adapting style and approach to meet the needs of a diverse community.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload by effective time management
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to use negotiation and influencing skills
- GCSE English and Maths Grade C or above (Grades 4-9) or equivalent
