Description Are you ready to make a significant impact on a dynamic and growing company? We are seeking a talented Chemist to join the R&D team at our Sheffield site. In this position you will be a member of the R&D team working cross functionally supporting the team at our Sheffield site. Responsibilities Work from R&D to implement new formulations and processes onto the production plant SCADA recipe installation & problem solving Formula set up and maintenance in Oracle systems Assist in and oversee Scale-up process and trials as formulas transfer from R&D to plant Become proficient in the use of the Formula Manufacturing Assurance Programme (FMAP) Provision of R&D support to the production plant Process change/Improvement investigation work Help with production batch corrections & rework investigation Involvement in change management, troubleshooting and root cause investigations Other lab support to the quality assurance and consumer services departments Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline Basic laboratory skills Effective written & verbal communication skills Confidence in presenting in formal or informal environments Ability to work flexibly and respond positively to changing priorities Ability to work in a team environment and on own initiative Preferred: Master’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer/materials science or related technical discipline Previous industrial/chemistry experience Six Sigma knowledge Ability to work successfully in a matrixed organization Paints/coatings formulation experience Driving license is preferred due to occasional travel Our offer… Work life balance Competitive compensation programme Bonus plan Private medical insurance Career growth opportunities in a truly international environment Innovation leaders in the protective coatings industry Sherwin Academy offers continuous training programmes for all seniority levels Attractive wellbeing, mental health, women & inclusion and ID&E programmes LI-JR1
