BAND 5 - THEATRE PRACTITIONER (ANAESTHETIC NURSE OR ODP) - Full time position available
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 ODP's or Registered Nurses with a recognised UK anaesthetic qualification for our suite of operating theatres, and have recently developed a new non-managerial Band 6 clinical role that recognises outstanding skill. All practitioners have an opportunity to undertake training and development that will allow progression towards this role.
We have achieved The Royal College of Anaesthetists with Anaesthesia Clinical Services Accreditation (ACSA). We are the first Trust in the West Midlands to achieve this accolade.

We are the Specialist Vascular Centre for the Black Country covering Dudley, Walsall and Wolverhampton and we have a dedicated vascular theatre with close links to the Interventional Radiology suite. We have become the Midland Orthopaedic Centre and an Endometriosis Centre.
Our Theatres comprise 10 Main theatres, 4 Day Surgery theatres, 2 Obstetric theatres and support to a Minor Procedure Room and Interventional Radiology Unit. We have a further Day Surgery Theatre and Ward at our satellite site less than 3 miles from the main site.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the care needs of patients within Inpatient and Day Surgery Theatres. He/she will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care and will be expected to demonstrate/ teach registered/unregistered staff and supervise junior staff as applicable to level of competence.
The post holder will participate in maintaining an environment that is conducive to the delivery and maintenance of a high standard of individualised holistic patient care, and to the establishment of good communications and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.

2. For NMC Registered - Requirement to complete six-month preceptorship or equivalent
