The Senior Civil Engineer will contribute to the civil engineering design of rural development projects, offering technical expertise and liaising with local authorities on drainage and flood risk management, all while ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained. The responsibilities of the Senior Civil Engineer will include: Lead the development and implementation of innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions to ensure projects are safe, buildable, and efficient. Undertake comprehensive civil engineering assessments to identify and mitigate project risks throughout all stages of the project lifecycle. Provide technical leadership in drainage design and flood risk management, ensuring consistent and high technical standards across the organisation. Manage and coordinate the work of consultants and contractors, including specialised tasks such as surveys and flood risk assessments. Liaise with project stakeholders, offering expert advice on engineering aspects that influence safety, quality, cost, and project schedules. Requirements : In-depth knowledge of UK planning and permitting processes, particularly in drainage design and flood risk management. Broad understanding of various civil engineering disciplines, including geotechnical, earthworks, and structural engineering. Experience in renewable energy projects or rural development projects is highly desirable. Strong understanding of UK CDM regulations, with a proven ability to manage health and safety and risk mitigation in design. Ability to clearly present and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and to work effectively within and across project teams.
