Main Role:
As a Senior Care Worker, you'll be a senior member of our team, responsible for supporting our service users and managing your own team efficiently. Your role is all about providing practical support to service users and ensuring we achieve the highest professional standards in social care.
Main Responsibilities:
You'll be planning and allocating work for your team, ensuring we have the right staffing levels. When the Service Manager or Deputy isn't around, you'll step up to ensure the safety and security of the building. You'll also act as a key worker for designated service users, helping to compile, monitor, and review their care plans.
Managing medication processes, assisting with the service quality improvement plan, and auditing against quality standards are all part of your role. You'll also be involved in recruiting and selecting staff, supervising them, and identifying their training needs. Plus, you'll help with induction training and ongoing training within the service.
You'll participate in staff meetings, promote our services, and maintain close working relationships with all relevant professionals. Health & Safety is crucial, so you'll undertake responsibilities in this area as delegated by the Service Manager. Creating a safe, secure, and supportive environment for individuals is key, and you'll promote the wellbeing of all service users with dignity and respect.
You'll also have specific duties as directed by the Service Manager, such as in-service training delivery or specific ambassador roles. Occasionally, you might need to undertake "sleep-in" duties. And of course, you'll ensure that client records are maintained in line with our financial policy and contribute to maintaining systems to gather, record, and store information.
Qualifications & Skills:
You'll need a relevant SVQ level 3 and the ability to complete PDA supervision, PDA medication, SVQ 4, and the workplace assessors’ award. Basic computer literacy skills, including using Microsoft Office and the internet, are essential.
Personal Attributes:
Applicants for this post are required to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010. You'll also need to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and pass the necessary vetting checks. Additionally, you'll need to be registered with the SSSC and ensure you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
