THE TEAM
We are seeking an experienced IT Network, Infrastructure, and Support Manager to lead and manage our technology infrastructure, network services, and IT support functions. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing external service providers who deliver essential IT services to Montagu Evans, ensuring their performance aligns with business needs, service level agreements (SLAs), and best practices. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring the company’s IT infrastructure is robust, secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
The Technology & Data team currently consists of 6 Montagu Evans staff, 2 onsite staff placed by our IT Managed Service partner and 1 onsite member seconded in from our Data insights/visualisation partner. The team supports all colleagues within Montagu Evans.
The team is led by the Director of Technology & Data and the role is one of five direct reports.
Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Management of IT Infrastructure: Oversee the design, maintenance, and management of the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data centers, cloud platforms, and other technology resources which are managed via our outsourced IT service partners (SPs). This will require a close working relationship with the SPs Technical Account Manager (TAM).
* Outsourced Partner (supplier) Management: Act as the primary liaison between the company and its outsourced IT service partners. Ensure that service partners deliver high-quality solutions that meet agreed SLAs, XLAs and KPIs. This will include leading periodic service review meetings.
* Network Management: Ensure the security, availability, and efficiency of company networks (LAN, WAN, VPN, etc.) and ensure network configurations and architecture are optimal for business needs through our network partner. This will require a close working relationship with the SPs Account Manager.
* IT Support Management: Oversee IT support services (helpdesk/technical support) provided by external Partners, ensuring the timely and efficient resolution of issues and maintaining high levels of end-user satisfaction. This will require a close working relationship with the SPs Service Delivery Manager (SDM).
* Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with the Director of Technology & Data on the long-term strategy for network and infrastructure management. Develop budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans for IT infrastructure and support services.
* Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor the performance of external service partners/providers, analysing trends and incident data. Drive continuous improvement in service delivery and technology performance.
* Compliance and Security: Ensure that all IT services adhere to relevant industry standards (such as ISO 27001, CE+), data protection laws (such as GDPR), and security best practices. Work with partners to ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place. This will require a close working relationship with the SPs Security Technical Account Manager (S-TAM).
* Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Oversee disaster recovery planning and testing, ensuring that business continuity plans are effective, and all stakeholders are prepared for potential outages.
* Manage day to day security incidents (even when out of hours) such as business email compromises (BEC) escalating to Director of Technology & Data as appropriate.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, business leaders, and external Partners to ensure IT services align with organisational goals and needs.
* Documentation and Reporting: Ensure proper documentation of IT systems, processes, and policies. Provide regular reports on the performance of infrastructure, network services, and support teams to senior management including the ISMS Board.
* Responding to External Questionnaires/Requests for Information: Coordinate/input as required to external requests for information relating to our InfoSec posture. This will require a close working relationship with the SPs TAM and S-TAM as well as the Network Account Manager.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the Technology & Data team as well as Risk & Compliance and HR to achieve desired outcomes.
Qualifications
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
* Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage external partners and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
* Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex projects and incidents involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
* Supplier/Partner Management: Expertise in managing outsourced IT providers, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and vendor relationships.
* Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, server management, cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, etc.), virtualization technologies, and IT support processes.
* Security Awareness: Strong understanding of cybersecurity practices, network security, and regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001 and CE+.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT infrastructure, networking, or a similar technical management role.
* Proven experience in managing outsourced IT service providers and delivering complex IT projects.
* Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, CE+ and ITIL best practices.
* Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* Experience working in a hybrid environment with both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
* Experience in IT service management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow or similar.
* Professional certifications such as ITIL, Cisco CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar qualifications.
* A flexible attitude towards working hours, some activities may need to be carried out outside normal business hours.
