About the Role Leicestershire County Council is looking to appoint to a Finance Support Assistant post within Finance Operations (Corporate Resources Department), supporting Adult Social Care (ASC), Account Closure. Working within the Accounts Closure team, you will enable the timely and accurate preparation of Direct Payment Card Finalisation. You will be part of a large, progressive, and diverse team and will work in a fast-paced and modern finance environment which enables the collection of £56m of social care income for six thousand service users, and £160m of expenditure per annum with 500 providers. The Finance Operations team integrates people, technology, and robust processes, focussing on our customer’s financial needs to drive our performance and take pride in delivering a quality service. This post holder will prepare finalised accounts, ensure the payment of any outstanding provider invoices and Personal Assistant final salaries including redundancy payments and lease with third party money managers. Action requests for refunds and deal with queries promptly. Maintain accounting, financial and case records and administer financial processes collaborating with key stakeholders and partners across all levels. About You We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, focused and can demonstrate the following: • Experience of working with computerised financial systems and good knowledge of MS word and Excel, along with attention to detail and an understanding of financial controls and processes • Experience of dealing efficiently and effectively with queries and correspondence • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, face to face and by telephone • Able to efficiently plan work and use effective time management skills • Are committed to quality customer service • Able to work within a very busy working environment and under pressure, prioritising work to meet tight deadlines • Have an NVQ level 2 or appropriate equivalent qualification in a relevant area e.g. Finance or Business Administration, and/ or relevant experience of working in a finance environment You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
