About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Locality SEND Team Lead to oversee and manage a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) team in Nottinghamshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to drive statutory SEND assessments, annual reviews, and improve educational outcomes for children and young people with EHCPs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the statutory EHC assessment & review process, ensuring compliance with SEND legislation.
2. Oversee multi-agency collaboration, working with education, health, and social care professionals.
3. Manage and develop a team of SEND Caseworkers, providing supervision and training.
4. Ensure quality assurance of statutory SEND documents and approve EHCPs.
5. Represent the Local Authority at SEND Tribunals, Mediation, and resolution meetings.
6. Work closely with schools to improve SEND provision and inclusion.
7. Provide expert guidance on SEND policy, legislation, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Level 6+ qualification in SEND or a relevant field.
2. Strong knowledge of SEND legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice, Equality Act 2010).
3. Proven experience managing complex SEND casework at a senior level.
4. Skilled in partnership working, conflict resolution, and multi-agency collaboration.
5. Experience in leading a team, performance monitoring, and training.
6. Excellent communication, report writing, and decision-making skills.
