Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting experienced Qualified Social Workers to join a busy team at a Durham based within the Child Protection team at the daily rate of 239.43 (Umbrella) and £181.02 (PAYE). To be successful in this role you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a qualification in Social Work at degree level, and have post-qualified experience.
Primary Responsibilities as a Child Protection Social Worker:
* Case Management:
o Conduct assessments and investigations related to child protection cases
o Develop and implement care plans for children and families
o Collaborate with other professionals, including parents, social workers, and legal representatives
o Attend court hearings and provide evidence when necessary
* Safeguarding:
o Maintain a child-centered approach, ensuring the welfare and safety of every child.
o Apply knowledge of safeguarding procedures and regulations.
o Identify risks and take appropriate actions to protect children from harm
* Assessment and Reporting:
o Assess family dynamics, risk factors, and protective factors.
o Write clear and concise reports, including assessments, case notes, and court reports.
o Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to child protection plans.
* Collaboration:
o Work closely with colleagues, including other social workers, health professionals, and educators.
o Liaise with external agencies, such as police, schools, and health services.
o Provide support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
* Professional Development:
o Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
o Attend training sessions and continuous professional development opportunities.
o Uphold professional standards and adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Essential:
o Qualified in a recognized social work degree (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
o Registration in SWE
o Experience in social work with children and families
Skills and Attributes:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Strong knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding issues
