Based in the Aberdare area, the company is an SME organisation which has a proven track record of delivering. The client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Finance Manager to lead its small finance department and play a key role in shaping the financial future and success of the business.
The Role:
My client is looking for an experienced Finance Manager who will oversee all financial aspects of the business, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strategic support for senior management. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, be capable of managing a small team, and offer insightful financial analysis that contributes to the long-term success of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial reports, and variance analysis to the leadership team.
Develop and maintain financial policies, systems, and procedures that align with company objectives.
Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
Provide financial insight and guidance to support business decisions, cost control, and growth initiatives.
Responsibility for Payroll & Pension processing including HMRC submissions
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax filings, and statutory reporting.
Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
Support the leadership team with financial planning and strategy development.
Manage and mentor 1 junior finance member, promoting a culture of professional development and continuous improvement.
Full responsibility for Insurance, IT and Utilities contracts
Company Secretarial duties
Skills and Experience Required:
Proven experience as a Finance Manager, ideally within an SME environment.
Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

The role will be fully office based (although the occasional WFH day will be allowed)
The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 5pm with a 4.30pm finish on Friday
