Join the Close Brothers Credit Risk team where you will lead a team of analysts to set/manage risk appetite and develop, deliver & monitor credit risk new business strategies for the Motor Finance portfolio.
Working as part of the Credit Risk team, our ideal team member will have previous experience in managing a high performing credit risk team within a consumer credit risk function with excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitor credit risk performance against agreed plans, targets and budgets and work with the wider business to agree the action required to address any performance issues and/or to capitalise on opportunities.
2. Develop and provide high quality credit risk related MI, insight and advice to the key committees and other major stakeholders to support informed decision making.
3. Support the delivery, development and ongoing monitoring of credit decision strategies and scoring capabilities.
4. Monitor and develop affordability strategies across Motor, working closely with 1st line and 2nd line to ensure strategies adhere to regulation and deliver good customer outcomes.
5. Develop credit policy whilst supporting the delivery of business objectives and aligning with Group Credit Risk Standards.
6. Ensure all credit governance requirements are adhered to including timely completion of RCSAs, policy reviews, quality assurance, mandate reviews, audit remediation, incident management and escalation.
Developing Our People: as a line manager, you will be responsible for inspiring and motivating your team, as well as developing performance through coaching. You will encourage your team to take responsibility for their own personal development and provide support through regular feedback.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
1. You have in depth understanding of credit risk across the lifecycle but with specific expertise in acquisition including the setting of credit and affordability strategies, policies, underwriting, bureau data and credit systems.
2. You have experience managing a high performing credit risk team within a consumer credit risk function combined with experience in applying and managing complex modelling concepts within credit risk.
3. You have experience implementing credit policies, affordability strategies and appropriate risk control frameworks in a FCA regulated environment, with an understanding of UK regulatory & legal requirements.
4. You have experience of leading, developing and coaching a highly effective analytical credit team.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
1. Have experience of delivering and managing credit scoring in a Retail environment or close working with scorecards and scorecard development.
2. Have strong coding skills, with experience using tools such as SAS or equivalent.
