Job overview
An opportunity has arisen to work in a joint role between Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) and Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & West Berkshire (BOB) ICB. You will be working within BHT alongside a team of enthusiastic pharmacy and clinical staff to promote and support the medicines optimisation programme in line with the ICB targets.
Main duties of the job
1. To be responsible for the effective and optimal use of high cost drugs (HCDs) commissioned by BOB ICB and prescribed within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) under the supervision of BHT Lead Pharmacist Medicines Optimisation.
2. To support, promote and facilitate medicines optimisation in the context of HCDs ensuring best value, reduced harm and improved outcomes from the significant investment in medicines.
3. To work as part of BOB ICB Medicines Optimisation Team to achieve the BOB ICB’s Medicines Optimisation Agenda.
4. To work as part of the Trust’s Medicines Optimisation Team to achieve the Trust's Medicines Optimisation strategy.
5. To provide an effective interface between BOB ICB and BHT regarding the use of HCDs.
6. To lead on the implementation of BOB commissioning policies that relate to HCDs.
7. To identify and facilitate the implementation of Trust approved QIPP and CQUIN programmes for HCDs and to share schemes with other local providers to ensure consistency across the health economy.
8. To investigate and coordinate the response to commissioners' queries and challenges regarding HCD charges.
9. To ensure correct commissioning arrangements are in place to optimise the use of homecare in relation to HCDs.
10. To propose and lead the implementation of initiatives designed to maximise the identification of recoverable Trust income.

* MPharm
* Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
* Registered Independent Pharmacist Prescriber
* Demonstrate professional networking (e.g. member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society or UKCPA)
* Post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent
Experience
* Significant experience of hospital pharmacy at Post Registration Pharmacist level.
* Significant experience of delivery of pharmacy services to a broad range of specialties.
* Experience of teaching and tutoring.
* Experience of project management.
* Experience of conducting service audits and the use of performance indicators.
* Experience of managing staff.
* Experience of delivery of clinical pharmacy service to a specialist level.
* Experience of training other pharmacy staff.
* Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
* Able to prioritise and manage own workload.
