Ideally have a qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. Or a time served HGV Technician. Ability to participate in breakdowns. Skills to follow company processes for completing all paperwork including accurate completion of job cards and service records. General level of computer literacy is advantageous. Full UK driving licence. The HGV Technician role / responsibilities include (but not limited to) : Servicing and maintaining a wide variety of Trucks and Vehicles. Fault Diagnostics. MOT Preparation. Mechanical and Electrical repairs. Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturers procedures and in a safe and responsible manner. Road test vehicle when required, subject to licence restrictions. Attend any technical or development training that is made available. In the absence of the Workshop Supervisor, as the Chargehand you will: Take responsibility for the day to day running of the workshop for your allocated shift, therefore must be a suitably qualified and experienced technician. Work closely with Service Reception and Management in order to provide excellent customer service, dealing with and resolving customer queries as required.
