Job summary The interview date for this role will be 7th May. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adult registered nurse with full NMC registration, to work as a Band 6 Sister in the Gynaecology Outpatient Department. This is a 16 hour permanent contract. We are seeking a well-motivated, enthusiastic individual who will provide a comprehensive nursing service for patients accessing Gynaecology services whilst ensuring safe, effective and high standards of care. You will take a lead in the co-ordination, planning and delivery of individual care provided by the multi-disciplinary team; ensuring effective management in the absence of the Lead Nurse. You will be a 1st level registered Nurse with preferred experience within speciality. You will be educated to diploma level or above and have evidence of relevant post registration education and development, together with a recognised mentorship course You will possess good communication, organisational and numerical skills, you will have the ability to organise your own work load and have the ability to support other members of the team, as well as being methodical whilst paying attention to detail Knowledge of Infection Control, Health and Safety, Risk Management and the NHS nursing agenda is essential You must have the ability to work as part of a team and have effective decision-making skills Main duties of the job You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to staff, providing evidenced-based nursing care to ensure the provision of a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Lead Nurse in driving forward the provision of quality care. Contribute to the education, development and line management of other delegated staff members, qualified and unqualified. Work collaboratively and co-operatively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and their families with minimal or no supervision. You will be expected to be familiar with and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures laid down by the Trust reporting untoward incidents and completing appropriate documentation. You will provide care to a range of patients attending our services including General Gynaecology outpatient care Hysteroscopy Colposcopy Nurse-led clinic You will carry out duties according to both local and national policies, procedures and guidelines, contributing to quality improvement, and promoting best evidence-based practice.
