We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our ambitious Academy team as a Technical Trainer, where you’ll play a vital role in training and developing our operational workforce to achieve full competency. Everything You Need to Know We’re on the lookout for someone to provide essential training and development support on ICA equipment to Customer Operations Maintainers and Apprentices across Water Production, Wastewater Recovery, and Bioresources. You’ll take the lead in planning, designing, and delivering both classroom and field training to our Customer Operations Teams. Using best practice techniques and industry standards, you’ll demonstrate how to programme, maintain, and safely operate ICA equipment. You’ll collaborate with suppliers to maximise training opportunities and prepare comprehensive courses with clear learning aims and assessment criteria. You’ll oversee our training facilities, plant, and equipment, ensuring everything operates smoothly and safely, whilst also providing on-site support through coaching and competency assessments. As a subject matter expert, you’ll support company innovations and projects, maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to stay current with industry trends. Plus, you’ll design and deliver courses for our insourced Apprentices and showcase our training to wider audiences when needed. What You’ll Bring to the Role We’re looking for someone who holds expertise in the application, programming and maintenance of ICA equipment for water and wastewater treatment process control. You’ll be proficient in PLC & HMI programming on Rockwell or Mitsubishi platforms, with a knack for industrial control networks like ethernet and modbus. You’ll have excellent communication skills to influence teams, be able to build effective relationships across various departments, and listen effectively. You’ll approach learner queries with empathy, and use your initiative and creativity to achieve the best outcomes. A NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation/ICA is required, as is a valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as this role involves travel.
