Welfare Benefits Adviser (in partnership with Macmillan) - Citizens Advice and Rights Fife
Citizens Advice and Rights Fife (CARF) is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local people. Our longstanding partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support is expanding, and we are thrilled to recruit a new Welfare Benefits Adviser to join the highly successful project.
Working alongside Fife’s Improving Cancer Journey team and CARF’s current Adviser, the successful applicant will deliver a welfare benefit advice service to patients and their families affected by cancer and living in Fife, completing benefit checks, assessing benefit entitlement, and assisting in the completion of forms where appropriate. The post holder will also be expected to appropriately refer onwards for further specialist advice, for example, debts.
To be successful in the role, you should have a desire to help individuals and families who have been affected by a cancer diagnosis. You will need to be well organized with good planning skills and a well-disciplined approach to work.
Experience of working in an advice-giving capacity and/or knowledge or interest in the social security system would be advantageous but not essential.
We are committed to Equal Opportunities, and applications are welcome from all communities. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure.
