Description The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness analyzing financial data of corporates, banks and project finance transactions and making recommendations on credit decisions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Responsibilities The Credit Analyst will have primary responsibility for fundamental risk analysis including the following: Quantitative Analysis Review and analyse financial statements and management accounts and make relevant credit recommendations to support the underwriting process. Provide shadow ratings for unrated counterparties and project finance transactions. Write bespoke rating reports and credit risk recommendations. Monitor and identify applicable trends from industry specific leading indicators. Monitor existing credit exposures and identify potential risks. Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to ensure accurate and timely credit decisions. Maintain accurate records and documentation of credit evaluations and decisions. Qualitative Analysis Assess qualitative risks such as political risks, governance, and regulatory changes that may impact creditworthiness. Evaluate the political stability and governance quality of regions where cedents and counterparties operate. Monitor geopolitical developments and their potential impact on the (re)insurance market. Technical Analysis Manage the data of the PCR team and ensure it is recorded in a timely and accurate fashion. Maintain and improve portfolio analysis tools Other Attend market presentations and meetings with brokers and clients as required which may include domestic and international travel to market conferences or reinsurer meetings and/or enquiry specific due diligence trips that could be to emerging markets Provide ad hoc presentations to the PCR team on political or industry risks Conduct ESG ratings for the portfolio Qualifications Essential The candidate must be a credit risk analyst with at least a few years’ experience in either the London Insurance market, a financial institution or rating agency The candidate must have sound technical knowledge of credit risk analysis as well as a wider understanding of related political, economic and social topics Good MS Office applications skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) The team player must be a team player as most risk decisions are made as a team Desirable Fluency or business-confident level in a major non-English language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese, French or German) Programming languages: Python, R, VBA Experience within an international environment
