Senior Reinsurance Accountant

AXA XL is looking for a highly organized and analytical Senior Reinsurance Accountant to join the Ceded Reinsurance Team in London, UK.
Responsibilities include:
1. Analyzing and implementing reinsurance treaty agreements protecting AXA XL group, identifying terms and conditions, analysis of premium/commission/claim registration, and other attachment criteria.
2. Managing reinsurance program ensuring that complex reinsurance contracts are correctly interpreted to determine the accurate accounting for it; all entities covered are accounted for in relevant systems.
3. Improving AXA XL's net risk/return profile with an emphasis on enhancing shareholder value through reinsurance contract setup, ceded premium booking/billing/payment, loss recovery calculation, and recoveries collection from reinsurers.
4. Working closely with the actuarial team to ensure correct reinsurance premium allocation based on global treaty terms.
5. Partnering with Ceded Re Buyers and Business Units to prepare & evaluate ceded premium allocation to impact business unit financial results accurately.
6. Managing multi-system/manual calculations of global claim aggregation/exhaustion and monitoring the Annual Aggregate Deductibles (AAD).
7. Responsible for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes of the assigned reinsurance program for all relevant systems technical accounts.
8. Understanding NAIC requirements for Schedule F and assisting in the preparation of quarterly Schedule F statements for the insurance segment.
9. Direct communications with external clients regarding contractual agreements accounting/cash flow and managing the company's collateral process.
10. Managing daily activities regarding collateral decreases and withdrawals.
11. Developing, recommending, and implementing continuous improvements to processes, reports, and technology solutions.
12. Training the offshore team and performing monthly data quality/verification processes.
13. Acquiring knowledge of the systems used within the company (ProCede, WINS, CH GENIUS, Hartford GENIUS, The Frame, Global Claims System, Documentum).
Required Skills and Abilities:
1. Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related area.
2. Moderate to extensive reinsurance accounting experience required.
3. Experience in Finance and/or Reinsurance industry or equivalent combination of training and experience.
4. Knowledge of various forms of reinsurance, specifically XOL contracts as they relate to loss application and calculation.
5. Understanding of functions pertaining to ceded reinsurance accounting.
6. Successful completion of industry professional designations - CPCU, AIAF, or ARe preferable.
7. Excellent written and oral communications skills.
8. Proven efficiency in multitasking, with attention to detail.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access). Knowledge of SQL is preferred.
10. Excellent research and analytical skills, robust financial reconciliation skills.
11. Display excellent customer relation skills, as well as result-driven.
