Job Summary
Salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours. Please note that this position is temporary.
Nurture, family learning, and supporting and engaging families continue to be a key priority for the Council.
The Family Learning Assistant will work as part of a school locality. The successful candidate will support schools to deliver key nurture and family learning projects that can bring families into the school community and aim to support parents to engage in their child's learning.
The role will involve raising awareness of support and services available within schools and the local community, as well as becoming a supportive point of contact for children, parents, and carers.
Responsibilities:
1. Support schools in delivering nurture and family learning projects.
2. Raise awareness of available support and services.
3. Act as a point of contact for children, parents, and carers.
Qualifications:
1. Strong knowledge of child development including attachment theory, nurture principles, and play approaches.
2. Proven experience of working with multi-agency partners.
3. Enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.

Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to confirmation of employment.
Successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check, which will be deducted from their first salary payment.
In specific circumstances, payment could be deducted in instalments from wages following commencement of employment.
Should an employee leave before the payment is deducted, the full amount will be deducted from their final salary.
