Job Description
* Lead the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial transactions.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting, providing insights and recommendations to leadership on financial performance.
* Support the fundraising and investor relations process, ensuring all financial records and reports are prepared and delivered on time.
* Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and systems to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
* Maintain and monitor tax filings, financial audits, and other regulatory requirements.
* Provide financial analysis to support decision-making by senior management, identifying areas for cost control and revenue growth.
* Work alongside the CFO to drive financial strategy and business planning.
The Successful Applicant
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent (or equivalent practical experience).
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a financial management role, ideally within a fast-paced or start-up environment, preferably in biotech, pharma, or a related sector.
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
* Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
* High proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
* Proven experience in fundraising, investor reporting, and managing financial compliance is highly desirable.
